TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred Friday on Kendall Road in conjunction with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
On Friday, March 17, at approximately4:56 p.m., Tyngsborough Police were called to the area of Kendall Road for a report of an unwanted man in a home and an assault involving a firearm. The suspect was known to the occupants of the home.
Prior to the arrival of police officers at the scene, the suspect in the incident suffered what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
An active investigation into the incident by the Tyngsborough Police Department and State Police detectives attached to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office remains active and ongoing. There is no danger to the general public.
Due to the ongoing investigation and privacy concerns, no additional details will be released by the Tyngsborough Police Department.
