EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Administrator Charles Seelig and the Town of East Bridgewater invite community members to provide traffic and safety feedback regarding the Route 18 Corridor.
Click here to take the Route 18 Corridor survey. The survey closes on Friday, June 30.
The survey, coordinated by the Old Colony Planning Council (OCPC), will help develop short-term and long-term recommendations and strategies that focus on transportation equity, improved circulation and mobility, reduced congestion and improvements in air quality for all transportation modes.
Community members will be asked to report on traffic volumes, traffic safety, the condition of built environments (pavement, sidewalks, etc.), bicycle and pedestrian safety and accommodations, and more.
“This survey is a great way for community members to have their voices heard about issues they face on Route 18 and improvements they would like to see,” Town Administrator Seeling said.
The survey is offered in English, French Creole, Haitian Creole, Portuguese and Spanish.
The study will determine system needs and identify operational deficiencies and will coordinate improvements to support regional and local objectives, adjacent land use, and future land use development. The study’s final report will be completed in September.
About the OCPC:
OCPC was established partly to address local challenges that cross city and town boundaries, like air and water pollution, transportation deficiencies and economic distress. Overcoming challenges like these requires cooperative action and OCPC exists to help facilitate that cooperation and coordination.
The OCPC region is a U.S. Economic Development Administration-designated Economic Development District. As such, OCPC leads a locally-based, regionally-driven economic development planning process. They actively engage and collaborate with the public, private and non-profit sectors to establish and implement an economic development roadmap for the region. Learn more about the OCPC here.
