WOBURN – Principal Robert Nickerson is pleased to share that Malcolm White Elementary School hosted Family Literacy Night earlier this month.

On Wednesday, March 1, 88 families with over 100 students attended the event, which was organized by Title One Reading Teacher Jaclyn Desmond with support from the school’s PTO and other staff members.

Families took part in a variety of activities, with literacy-related stations like Bingo for Books, Sight Word glow in the dark Jenga, Sight Word hopscotch and craftmaking, including bookmark making,as well as pizza donated by various Woburn restaurants.

“It was great seeing so many students and families coming together and enjoying a night at school exploring literacy,” Principal Nickerson said. “I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make it all happen.”

Each child in attendance had the opportunity to choose a free book, with more than 300 books purchased with Title One funds given away to students.
