ANTRIM 一 Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Jim Elder are proud to announce that Great Brook School’s robotics team, the Awesome Potatoes, will be competing in the VEX Robotics World Championship.

The Awesome Potatoes excelled at the 2022-2023 New Hampshire/Vermont VEX IQ Challenge State Championship on Sunday, Feb. 19, in Manchester. The team placed third out of 40 teams in the Robotics Skills Competition, and received the Create Award for its efforts.

As a result of their success, the Awesome Potatoes has been invited to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship for the second time, which will be held from Sunday, April 30 to Tuesday, May 2 in Dallas, Texas.

The team was also awarded a $1,200 scholarship along with their State Championship trophy to cover the cost of the World Championship registration fee, courtesy of the Oyster River Robotics Program, which forfeited one of its prizes to support ConVal’s team.

“This group of students has developed truly exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills, which are key factors that contribute to their continued success,” said Superintendent Rizzo Saunders. “We are extremely proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see them compete in the World Championship.”
