BOURNE — Principal Elizabeth Carpenito and Elementary Curriculum Director Lisa Dix are pleased to announce that Bournedale Elementary School will be hosting spirit week to encourage students to continue reading.
Spirit Week will take place from Monday, March 6, through Friday, March 10 at Bournedale Elementary School, located at 41 Ernest Valeri Road.
Over the course of the week, students will participate in various activities including dress-up theme days and presentations from community guest readers including the Bourne School Committee, Bourne Fire Department, Bourne Police Department, and Bourne School Administration.
Dress-up themes of the week include:
- Monday, March 6. Today’s Readers, Tomorrow’s Leaders, where students dress up as what they want to be when they grow up, featuring guest readers from the community.
- Tuesday, March 7. Reading Gives You Superpowers, where students wear a superhero cape or shirt.
- Wednesday, March 8. Cozy up with a Good Book, where students wear their favorite pajamas.
- Thursday, March 9. Reading is Everywhere, where students dress up as tourists and read books set in different places.
- Friday, March 10. Book Character Dress Up Day, where students dress up as their favorite book character.
“We are excited for these new school spirit themes Mrs. Dix has created for us to remind students how much fun they can have while learning,” said Principal Elizabeth Carpenito.
