Burlington Police Department Welcomes Officer Brett T. Encarnacao

BURLINGTON — Police Chief Thomas P. Browne and the Burlington Police Department are pleased to welcome Officer Brett T. Encarnacao to the department.

BURLINGTON — Police Chief Thomas P. Browne and the Burlington Police Department are pleased to welcome Officer Brett T. Encarnacao to the department.

Officer Encarnacao is a Billerica native and graduate of Billerica Memorial High School, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2019 to 2022, earning the rank of corporal and serving as a squad leader. 

Officer Encarnacao is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Southern New Hampshire University. His father is North Reading Police Lt. Thomas Encarnacao. 

Officer Encarnacao graduated from the Municipal Police Training Committee’s Lynnfield Police Academy on Jan. 17, and joined the Burlington Police Department on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

He is currently assigned to work with a Field Training Officer, and will complete his field training program May.

“Officer Encarnacao served his country with distinction and I’m proud to welcome him to the Burlington Police Department,” said Chief Thomas Browne.
