EASTON — The Town of Easton would like to share plans to provide trauma-informed support services for community members seeking resources after this weekend’s traumatic event.

The Town of Easton has partnered with Riverside Community Care to provide support services to community members in the wake of an officer-involved shooting that occurred in town on Sunday, Feb. 5.

Riverside Community Care’s services will be available to community members on a walk-in basis at the Frothingham Hall Community Center, 15 Barrows St., on:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 9 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

No pre-registration or appointment is required. Participation is confidential and the services are available to community members at no cost.

Those in need of mental health support services and resources can also call 9-8-8 to reach trained crisis counselors and receive 24/7, immediate and confidential help. More information is available at https://988lifeline.org/.

The Town committed to offer these services as part of a statement by town leadership regarding this weekend’s events, which can be read in full by clicking here.
