Lynnfield Center Water District to Hold Public Hearing on 2023 Tax Levy

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Center Water District (LWCD) Board of Commissioners invite ratepayers to participate in its annual tax levy hearing later this month.

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Center Water District (LWCD) Board of Commissioners invite ratepayers to participate in its annual tax levy hearing later this month.

LCWD raises revenue to fund its ongoing operations and long-term capital projects. The District presently funds 60 percent of its funding commitments from volumetric rates, and 40 percent from a tax assessment that appears on quarterly Town real estate bills.

Commissioners will convene on Monday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m., in the Maney Conference Room in Town Hall, 55 Summer St. Commissioners will consider three options during the hearing: Continuing the 60/40 split, adopting a 65/35 split, and adopting a 55/45 split. Possible volumetric rates associated with each approach and impacts on ratepayers will also be discussed. Town Assessing Manager Victor Santaniello will be present for the discussion.

A vote is expected during this meeting and the new levy will go into place in 2023.

LCWD is currently preparing Fall quarter consumption bills to be issued in December. Information on this process and on the rates can be found online here.
