Groveland Council on Aging to Host REAL ID Program for Residents

GROVELAND 一 Town of Groveland is pleased to announce that the Groveland Council on Aging is hosting a REAL ID program presentation for residents.

Thursday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m.

WHERE:

Public Safety Room of the Groveland Fire Station, 181 Main St.

WHAT: 

Groveland Council on Aging will be hosting this program to provide information to seniors about the new national REAL ID program. 

On May 3, 2023, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant in order to board domestic flights and access federal facilities. The REAL ID program is in accordance with the Department of Homeland Security’s REAL ID Act that was passed in 2013 to established minimum security standards for license issuance.

Michele Ellicks from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles will give a presentation outlining the program and will work with seniors on how to submit documentation. Additionally, there will be a question-and-answer portion of the event.

Seniors who are interested in attending should bring identification documents to the event including proof of date of birth, proof of social security number, and proof of a Massachusetts residency.

A checklist of acceptable identification documents can be found here and should be filled out and brought to the event. Checklists will also be available in the Council on Aging Office located at Town Hall, 183 Main St., prior to the event.
