Taunton Police Respond After Pedestrian Injured in Crash

TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department responded after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday evening. 

TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department responded after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday evening. 

At 6:02 p.m.,Taunton Police were dispatched to 10 Oak St. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, responding officers provided aid to a 78-year-old Taunton man who had been struck by a vehicle.

The victim was conscious and alert prior to being transported via ambulance to an area hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening. 

The driver, a 38-year-old Taunton man, remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation into the crash. The crash remains under investigation by Taunton Police detectives and the Taunton Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.
