WAKEFIELD — Police Chief Steven Skory and Fire Chief Michael Sullivan report that the Wakefield Police and Fire Departments responded to a single-car crash on Tuesday in which four people were injured.
On Tuesday, July 5, at approximately 2:41 p.m., Wakefield Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a crash in the area of 131 Vernon St.
First responders arrived to find a car had crashed into a tree, with two occupants entrapped. Wakefield firefighters worked to free the occupants using hydraulic tools.
Two individuals were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. One individual was transported by ambulance to a Boston hospital, and another individual was transported by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.
The crash is under investigation by the Wakefield Police Department, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
