Registration Open for COVID-19 Booster Clinic for Easton Residents Age 12+

EASTON — Superintendent Lisha Cabral, Director of Health and Community Services Kristin Kennedy, Chief Justin Alexander and Public Health Officer/Firefighter Tim Vamosi are pleased to announce that registration is now available for a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic next week for all eligible residents age 12 and up. 

WHEN:

Friday, Feb. 11, from 3-6 p.m.

WHERE:

Easton Middle School, 98 Columbus Ave., North Easton

WHO:

The clinic will be a chance for students 12 and older to receive a COVID-19 booster shot in time for February vacation, as a way to minimize any post-vacation surges of the virus.

While students ages 12-17 are the target population for this clinic, any Easton resident eligible to receive the Pfizer booster vaccine is encouraged to register.

WHAT:

The clinic will be by appointment only. Those looking to sign up for the clinic can do so by visiting this registration link.

Those signed up for the clinic will be receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster vaccine, which is the only booster approved for children ages 12-17. A total of 225 appointments will be available through this clinic.

Initial doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will not be offered at this clinic. Those interested in receiving their initial vaccination should reach out to the Board of Health at covid19@easton.ma.us or 508-230-0620 to set up an appointment.

There is no cost to receive the vaccine at this clinic. Those on-site are reminded that face coverings must be worn at all times while at the clinic.

“We are exceedingly grateful for the continued collaboration and support we have received from the Fire and Health Departments throughout this pandemic,” Superintendent Cabral said. “They have kept us informed and included throughout the entire process, and have provided numerous opportunities for both our students and staff to have convenient access to vaccines, boosters and tests if they wish to receive them.”

Added Chief Alexander, “We are pleased to have been able to offer various vaccine and testing clinics in recent months as part of the Easton Community Health and Paramedicine program, and the success of these endeavors is due to the continued efforts and collaboration between many town departments.” 

Residents are reminded of the importance of receiving a booster shot, and that vaccines and boosters are a proven and effective way to prevent illnesses, including chicken pox, tetanus, whooping cough, meningitis and more. 

“Children 12 and older became eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine back in May of 2021 and we put efforts into making access to the vaccine easy for families in the spring and throughout the summer so we could start the 2021-2022 school year with many in this age group vaccinated,” Director Kennedy said. “Now, many of these individuals are approaching or have passed the five-month mark since their second dose, and we want to make access to the booster just as easy. We hope all Easton school families who are eligible consider registering for this booster clinic leading up to the upcoming February vacation.”
