Plainville Police to Implement Emergency Parking Ban During Nor’easter Storm this Weekend

No On Street Parking from Friday at 9 p.m. to Saturday at 9 p.m.

PLAINVILLE —Chief James Floyd reports that an emergency parking ban will be put into effect this weekend to help keep roads clear for plows and emergency vehicles during the nor’easter storm that is expected to bring upwards of two feet of snow to the region.

The parking ban will be in effect from Friday, Jan. 28, at 9 p.m. until Saturday, Jan. 29, at 9 p.m.

Vehicles that are found to be in violation of the parking ban may be towed and the vehicle owner could receive a ticket. Officers will make all practical attempts to reach vehicle owners about moving their vehicles prior to towing.

“With the potential magnitude of this snowstorm, we need the roads to be clear for plow drivers and emergency vehicles,” Chief Floyd said. “Thank you in advance for your cooperation and we hope everyone remains safe during the storm.”

For vehicles that are towed, the owner can contact the Plainville Police Department at 508-809-5555 to make arrangements for the vehicle to be released at the owner’s expense.
