Southeastern Regional Recognizes Fall Season’s Student-Athlete and Coach Honorees

SOUTH EASTON — Superintendent Luis Lopes, Principal Leslie Weckesser and Athletic Director Dan Tripp wish to congratulate student-athletes and coaches at Southeastern Regional on a successful fall sports season and recognize those who received league and media recognitions.

SOUTH EASTON — Superintendent Luis Lopes, Principal Leslie Weckesser and Athletic Director Dan Tripp wish to congratulate student-athletes and coaches at Southeastern Regional on a successful fall sports season and recognize those who received league and media recognitions. 

“Our student-athletes and coaches work hard throughout the season and we are proud to see them recognized for their efforts and accomplishments,” Director Tripp said. “Congratulations to all of our student-athletes, coaches and teams who received honors this season.”

The school’s athletic teams compete as part of the Mayflower Athletic Conference (MAC). The following is a run-down of the teams, coaches and student-athletes who received recognitions this fall:

Cross Country

Coach Peter Valente was named Coach of the Year for both boys and girls. The boys team was additionally awarded the league Sportsmanship Award.

Joseph Montal of Foxborough and Adison Hohengasser of West Bridgewater received Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic Honorable Mentions.

Field Hockey

The team was awarded the league Sportsmanship Award, and May Munro of West Bridgewater and Nilianna Gomes of Brockton were named league All-Stars. Munro also received a Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic Honorable Mention.

Football

Quarterback Nick Levine of Brockton was named a MAC Large Division Co-Player of the Year. Kenny Oliveira of Brockton, Joe Tully of East Bridgewater, Levante Brown of Brockton, Logan Koxias of East Bridgewater and Jovanni Cruz of Brockton were named league All-Stars.

Golf

Coach Derek Knudsen was named the MAC Coach of the Year. Cooper Phillips of Brockton and Tom Buck of East Bridgewater were named league All-Stars.

Boys Soccer

Evan McIntire of Mansfield and Steven Santos of Stoughton were named league All-Stars.

Girls Soccer

The team was awarded the league Sportsmanship Award. Additionally, Paige Crockett of West Bridgewater and Agapi Kouvlis of West Bridgewater were named league All-Stars, and Kelsea Doherty of Stoughton received a Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic Honorable Mention.

Volleyball

Laryssa Lopes of Brockton and Samantha Duarte of Mansfield were named league All-Stars.

The student-athletes will be invited to the school’s end-of-year sports banquet, expected to be held in May, to celebrate their achievements.

The school recently began its winter athletics season, which includes boys and girls basketball, cheerleading, hockey, wrestling and track and field. The winter season runs through February.
