EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Paul O’Brien reports that an East Bridgewater man was arrested Thursday and is facing child pornography charges.
DOUGLAS HAYWARD, AGE 48, OF EAST BRIDGEWATER was charged with:
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Dissemination of Child Pornography
HAYWARD is expected to be arraigned today at Brockton District Court.
On Oct. 6, an East Bridgewater Police detective received information that a suspect, later identified as HAYWARD, was viewing and sending child pornography through the social media application Kik.
Through the subsequent investigation, East Bridgewater Police conducted a search warrant of HAYWARD’S Bridge Street home on Thursday and seized a computer and iPhone. Images and videos of child pornography were allegedly found on HAYWARD’S devices and he was placed under arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing and police are conducting a forensic review of HAYWARD’S devices to determine if there are additional illegal materials.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
