RAYMOND — Superintendent Tina McCoy announces that Iber Holmes Gove Middle School Student Services Coordinator Rebecca Hadik will retire following the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year after working in the Raymond School District for 33 years.
“All of the students and staff at Gove Middle School have made my time there so rewarding,” Hadik said. “I have enjoyed witnessing the continued success of our students and supporting them throughout their time here. I am very sad to say goodbye to Raymond Schools and Iber Holmes Gove in particular, but am looking forward to my retirement.”
Hadik started her career after completing her master’s in education with an endorsement for general special education in 1983 working at Newmarket Junior/Senior High School with a self-contained group of seventh-grade students. She then moved to Hampton Junior High School and worked with junior high students who had behavioral challenges as a part of the Seacoast Learning Collaborative, where she also received an endorsement in specific learning disability education.
In 1988, Hadik moved to the Raymond School District, starting at Lamprey River Elementary School with a self-contained fourth-grade classroom before moving with the class to Iber Holmes Gove Middle School in 1989. For the next four years, Hadik worked as a case manager, helping sixth-grade students with special needs succeed in the classroom.
While working as a case manager, Hadik was given additional responsibilities in 1992 as the IHGMS student services coordinator, presiding over special education at Iber Holmes Gove. She earned her certification as a special education administrator during the 2005-2006 school year, completing the NH Association of Special Education Administrators’ Level I Academy and becoming a full-time member of the IHGMS administrative team.
“Rebecca has been an invaluable part of the Raymond School District for over 30 years and we are sad to see her leave,” Superintendent McCoy said. “We are incredibly grateful for her work and wish her the best in the future as she moves onto the next phase of her life.”
Hadik regularly took on extra responsibilities, going above and beyond to best support the students at Iber Holmes Gove in many ways, including: working on the Student Intervention Team, participating in the Behavior Action Team, being an active member of Community Wrap Around, working with multiple leadership team and Supporting students during the transition between middle and high school.
“I have been lucky enough to work with so many wonderful people at IHGMS,” Hadik said. “I’m excited to spend more time with them and my friends, as well as work in my gardens, work on home projects and travel to some of my favorite places. However, I cannot predict the future and look forward to whatever adventures life has waiting for me.”
Hadik will work through the spring and retire upon the conclusion of the school year.
