Raymond School District Announces Changes to School Year Calendar

RAYMOND — Superintendent Tina McCoy wishes to share changes to the school year calendar, including the new last day of school for students.

Due to the following events and changes, the last day of school for students will now be June 17 and teachers will work a half-day on June 18:

• The second employee vaccination clinic will be held on Thursday, April 8. As such, all Raymond School District students will participate in remote learning and there will be no on-site learning for any students. Students will be assigned coursework but there will be no live instruction and teachers will not be available.
• There will be no school on Friday, April 9 and the district will be closed. This day, as well as the snow day on Feb. 2, will be made up at the end of the year.

On March 31, the Raymond School Board will consider the possibility of conducting on-site learning five days a week, which would start on May 3, 2021. An option for those who wish to continue with fully remote learning will be available. If the Board opts not to pursue a full return, additional hybrid B days will be added to the calendar before the end of the school year to balance out the A/B day schedule for hybrid students.

“This school year has been unlike any other we’ve had before. The resilience and commitment our students, staff and their families have shown throughout the course of this entire pandemic is beyond impressive,” Superintendent McCoy said. “We wish everyone the best as we enter into this last part of the school year.”
