March 2021 is a challenging milestone, marking one year since lockdowns related to the coronavirus pandemic started in the Northeast and we entered into this rollercoaster of daily living that is the “new normal.”
The first COVID-19 press release JGPR published was on February 5, 2020 and it offered tips on protecting yourself from something called the 2019 novel coronavirus. It was in March 2020 that the day-to-day work that JGPR was doing shifted almost completely from routine communications for our clients to the seriousness of the pandemic and its impact on communities—from closing playgrounds to shuttering schools, town halls and businesses.
Since that time JGPR has written more than 1,700 press releases relating to COVID-19 for our clients, and we’re still writing them with frequency as the vaccination effort ramps up. On top of these releases the staff has written hundreds of talking points, letters to staff, letters to the community, and speeches; and designed hundreds of infographics and produced more than 60 Coronavirus related videos for cities and towns in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
JGPR also created and launched 13 COVID-19 focused websites (example: brooklinecovid19.com) for our clients since March 2020, which provide a platform for all COVID-19 information and materials for those communities to be housed—from local updates to state press releases, as well as town-specific COVID-19 case data. Many of these websites were designed and launched within 24-48 hours in the early stages of the pandemic, giving residents a dedicated hub for information about how the pandemic impacted their communities.
We’re proud to say that one year later these 13 websites have shown their community value, and combined have had nearly one million views and 100% uptime!
One year into the coronavirus pandemic we’ve learned so much as a company, and have been grateful to work so closely with our clients to communicate about the biggest public health challenge in a century.
Thank you for your continued trust and support!
