PLYMOUTH — Chief G. Edward Bradley and Director of the Plymouth Public Health Department Karen Keane are pleased to announce that the Plymouth Fire Department has successfully administered all first doses of the Moderna vaccine to first responders, and encourages community members to receive the vaccination when eligible.

The video features Fire Chief Bradley, Deputy Chief Neil Foley and District 1 Vice President of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts and Plymouth Firefighter James Brown receiving their first dose of the Moderna vaccine.
“I was first in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine here at the fire department,” Chief Bradley said. “I wanted to make sure that the staff knew that the vaccine was safe and that there were no issues with receiving it. I hope that after our residents see us receive our inoculations they feel encouraged to follow suit.”
Plymouth first responders received their inoculations at clinics at Plymouth Fire Department locations and at the Plymouth Police Headquarters. All inoculations were administered safely and efficiently by the Brewster Ambulance Service, which serves as the Town of Plymouth’s transport ambulance service.
With first responders having received their first dose of the vaccine, Plymouth’s Department of Public Health is working on a plan to vaccinate home bound residents.
“It’s extremely important for everyone to understand that the vaccine is safe and imperative to stopping the spread of COVID-19,” Director Keane said. “We hope that as we move through the phases of the vaccine distribution plan, Plymouth residents know that the vaccination is safe and will choose to receive the vaccine in order to protect themselves and others.”
