Randolph Fire Department Holds ‘Stay Safe At Home’ Drive Thru Event for Randolph Seniors

RANDOLPH — Chief Richard Donovan is pleased to share that the Randolph Fire Department, in collaboration with the Randolph Elder Affairs Department, recently handed out “Stay Safe At Home” bags to seniors in Randolph. 

Deputy Chief Mike Rennie, Firefighter Cheri Patten, Councilor Ryan Egan and Director of Elder Affairs Kerri Sullivan handed out the bags at a drive-thru event at the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center on Thursday, Dec. 3. 

A total of 102 Stay Safe At Home bags were handed out to seniors.

The bags included COVID-19 information, fire safety information, a “File of Life,” magnets, stickers, pens and pencils, a mask and hand sanitizer.

“We are still conducting our normal senior programs, such as installing smoke detectors, but the numbers have dropped due to the restrictions posed by COVID-19, so we were pleased to have been able to hold this event to get safety information out to seniors in a way that’s safer than visiting their homes,” Chief Donovan said. “We hope that the event reminded the seniors in our community that we’re always available to assist however needed, and we encourage them to reach out with any fire safety questions.”
