Littleton Town Hall Closed After Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

LITTLETON — Town Administrator Anthony Ansaldi reports that Littleton Town Hall will be closed this week as a precaution after a town staff member tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. 

The closure affects the Town Hall campus, including Parks, Recreation, Continuing Education and Elder and Human Services. The Meals on Wheels program will continue to operate, as will the Parks and Recreation programming at O’Neil Cinemas.

Town Hall will remain closed through Friday, Dec. 11, after an employee was diagnosed with COVID-19 yesterday. The employee began displaying symptoms of the illness on Saturday and subsequently received a positive test result Sunday.

Town Officials met yesterday and collectively decided to close Town Hall out of an abundance of caution, and employees will be working from home during that time. Town operations are continuing uninterrupted by the transition to remote work. Those who need to conduct business with individual town departments should reach out to those departments directly. The Nashoba Regional Board of Health is in the process of conducting contact tracing and identifying anyone who may have been a close contact of the individual who tested positive for the coronavirus. Specific quarantine plans will be provided to those affected, and they will be directed to get tested and keep themselves quarantined until 14 days following their last possible exposure.

“We are working closely with public health experts to identify anyone who may be at risk as a result of this case, and in the meantime are hoping for a speedy recovery for the individual who has contracted COVID-19,” Town Administrator Ansaldi said. “I want to thank our residents in advance for their understanding and patience, and ensure them that they will still have access to essential town services even if Town Hall is temporarily closed.”
