MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy and Mansfield High School Drama Teacher Sheila Newton are pleased to announce that the MHS Drama Department will perform their fall production, “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors,” through a podcast this year.

“As a result of COVID-19, we had to adapt our plans for our fall production and make it into a podcast instead of a live performance,” Newton said. “I am so proud of the students for how they easily adapted to this change although this may not have been the ideal way to perform the show. We are so excited to share our podcast with the public and cannot wait for it to be released.”

WHEN:

The episodes of the podcast will be released Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5. The shows will begin at 7 p.m., with the link going live at 6:45.

WHERE:

The links to the episodes of the podcast can be found here.

WHAT:

The Mansfield High School Drama Department will be performing their fall production this year, “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors,” as a podcast due to COVID-19.

With the cases of COVID-19 on the rise and the chance of an in-person fall performance unlikely, the MHS Drama Department chose to produce their fall production as a podcast instead.

Performances will be held live both Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5 at 6:45, and will be accessible by visiting the production’s website and following along with each episode.

The cast includes 15 cast members, five commercial creators and actresses, and 11 crew members ranging between freshman and seniors. A link to the full cast bios can be found here.

Admission to the performance is free but donations are greatly appreciated. To donate to the Mansfield High School Drama Department you can click here and search for Mansfield Pubic Schools. Select “Donations” and not “Performing Arts Fee.” All forms of payment are accepted except Visa. Please specify that this donation is for the Mansfield High School Drama Department. The MHS Drama Department will also be accepting checks payable to Mansfield High School (be sure to write MHS Drama Donation on the memo line).
