Kearsarge Regional High School Announces September Student of the Month

NEW LONDON, N.H. — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s September student of the month.

Nina Spinney, a senior of Newbury was selected as the September student of the month after she was nominated by faculty for the honor.

“Nina has demonstrated herself not only to be a self-directed, motivated learner, but a leader among her community here at Kearsarge Regional High School,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “She works hard to promote a positive and friendly environment and her work with the Student Council and the Culture and Climate group shows her genuine concern and care for the student body and their experiences here at KRHS.”

Spinney is an honor roll student at Kearsarge Regional High School and is involved in several extracurricular groups. She serves as the Student Council President, and is an engaged member of the Culture and Climate Initiative. Additionally, Spinney is the student representative to the School Board, and has roles in Youth and Government and Yale Model Congress.

“Nina is kind and compassionate and works hard to make KRHS a great place to learn and be,” said Kearsarge Regional High School Assistant Principal Amanda Downing. “Nina is a student leader who isn’t afraid to challenge her peers and staff alike to create a dynamic, inclusive and positive school climate. As an administrator, I have learned a lot from Nina about the importance of student voice and its impact.”

Spinney plans on studying Education in the fall, and has not yet selected which college or university she will attend.

“I am very appreciative of this recognition, and I’m extremely thankful for the opportunities I have had at KRHS,” Spinney said. “I am driven by my love and appreciation for this district and community, which has done so much for me going all the way back to my time at Bradford Elementary School. After participating in a variety of leadership roles, I have found that I have a passion for education and public service, which I plan on studying next year at college.”
