Bridgewater Elder Affairs Commission Hosts Car Parade to Recognize Elder Affairs Director Emily Williams

BRIDGEWATER — Town Manager Michael Dutton is pleased to announce that the Bridgewater Elder Affairs Commission hosted a car parade Monday to recognize Elder Affairs Director Emily Williams.

The Elders Affairs Commission hosted the parade on Monday, Oct. 19 at the Bridgewater Senior Center in honor of the outstanding job Director Williams has done throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

At the parade, Director Williams was given balloons and flowers, and special remarks were shared.

“Director Williams has made an enormous impact within the town and on our senior population throughout the year,” Town Manager Dutton said. “Even during uncertain times, Emily has remained committed to helping and providing our senior population with the resources and support they need. We are pleased to see so many people show up and honor her.”

Approximately 30 people attended the parade. All who attended were required to wear a face mask or covering, and to practice social distancing.

Director Williams has worked in the Town of Bridgewater since October 2019. During her time in Bridgewater, Director Williams has assisted in hosting numerous events for seniors at the Bridgewater Senior Center such as the New Years Eve Luncheon. She is also credited with expanding the Council on Aging’s newsletter, Top of the Hill, due to its popular demand.

“Throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Emily has emerged as a true leader,” Elder Affairs Commission Chairman David Frim said. “She has gone above and beyond not only by building the Senior Center into a thriving destination during our time of crisis, but also continuing to maintain connections with our most vulnerable citizens: the senior population.”
