BERKLEY — Chief Scott Fournier is pleased to announce that Berkley Fire Rescue has raised $1,000 for the Cancer Care Community Advisory Board (CABbies) through the selling of breast cancer awareness t-shirts.

Berkley Fire Rescue will donate 100% of the proceeds raised to support local families currently experiencing hardships through the online sales of the t-shirts. The drive was part of the department’s efforts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is October.

“This is our second year raising money to support local families in their fight against cancer. We are extremely thankful to everyone who purchased a t-shirt and helped us to reach our donation goal,” Chief Fournier said. “We all have been touched by cancer in one way or another, and we look forward to helping our community and local families in any way that we can.”

Last year Berkley Fire Rescue raised $500 through the selling of the shirts, and was able to double that total this year.

Berkley Fire Rescue will continue to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout the rest of October with department members having the option to wear one of the shirts, which features the pink ribbon breast cancer logo.
