Hull Public Schools Announces Student at Hull High School Tests Positive for COVID-19 

HULL — Superintendent Judith Kuehn reports that a student at Hull High School has tested positive for COVID-19. 

The student has been out of the building since Friday, and will continue to quarantine for 14 days. The district is following its comprehensive internal plan for a positive case, including consistent sanitizing, informing families whose students were at risk of exposure or in close contact, and supporting the affected family.

The Hull High School student body and staff have been closely adhering to all safety protocols in place, including mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing. 

Parents of students who were in close contact with the student have been notified. All close contacts should be tested but must self-quarantine for 14 days after the last exposure to the person who tested positive, regardless of test result.

The district is also following all Department of Public Health protocols, including collaborating with the local board of health to complete contact tracing. Additionally, the district is requesting that parents whose students are tested for COVID-19 report the results to the school nurse. 

The Hull Public Schools will continue to be vigilant in adhering to all of the protocols that have been put in place in an effort to continue in-person learning. The district will be providing remote learning for all students required to quarantine at home in order to continue to provide instruction to all students as well as to maintain an emotional connection between students and their classroom.

“Our first responsibility is to keep our students and staff safe, and we have been planning for this scenario during our re-opening planning process,” Superintendent Kuehn said. “We are grateful to our families for their continued efforts to keep students home at the first sign of symptoms. These measures, in combination, greatly reduce the risk of additional transmission.”
