King Philip Regional High School Receives Large Donation of Paper Bags from Area Roche Brothers Store

WRENTHAM — Superintendent Paul Zinni is pleased to announce that King Philip Regional High School recently received a large donation of paper bags from an area Roche Brothers location in time for the start of the 2020-21 school year.

The Roche Brothers Millis location donated nearly 2,000 paper bags to the school to assist in delivering necessary school supplies to students before the start of the school year.

The donation was organized by the KPRHS administrative team in August when they reached out to the Millis Roche Brothers location. The administration received the bags from Roche Brothers on Aug. 24 and the bags were then packed with back-to-school supplies by the high school staff to be distributed to each high school student during the week of Sept. 6.

As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent implementation of remote learning for the start of the school year, staff delivered the supplies to students prior to the start of the school year. Students received individualized paper bags that were labeled with their name, and were filled with various materials that would be needed for the school year such as textbooks, novels and art supplies. 

Additionally, each student received a “remote learning survival kit” in their bag, as well as important paperwork.  

“We offer our sincerest thanks to Roche Brothers for this very sizable donation,” King Philip Regional High School Assistant Principal Meaghan Sullivan said. “There have been several challenges to the start of this school year, and we are pleased to be able to provide so many of our students with the materials they need to succeed during remote learning. We also appreciate the cooperation we have received from the entire King Philip school community as students prepared to return to school this year.”
