UPDATE #2 Town of Dedham Announces COVID-19 Testing Site Open to Residents Sept. 13-15

DEDHAM — Town Manager Leon Goodwin and Dedham Board of Health Chairwoman Leanne Jasset are urging all Dedham residents to get tested for COVID-19 at a new testing site that will be open in town next week.

In response to the recent designation by the state as a “high risk” community, Dedham officials have partnered with state leaders to bring a mobile testing unit to town. 

Fallon Ambulance will be providing COVID-19 testing beginning Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Endicott Estate, located at 656 East St. 

The testing site will be open:

• Sunday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Monday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. – noon
• Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 2 – 6 p.m.

Testing is free for all Dedham residents. You do not need to have symptoms to be tested. 

“Widespread testing is a critical step in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in our community,” Jasset said. “Testing will allow us to ensure that those who test positive are informed of the necessary steps to take to keep from spreading the virus to others. We will also be able to contact people who have been in contact with a positive case, which will help us to truly stop the spread as quickly as possible.”

“Given the recent rise in cases in town, we encourage all of our residents to take advantage of this testing site,” Town Manager Goodwin said. “Results of the testing and the accompanying contact tracing will help local health officials better understand how the virus has spread throughout the community and evaluate any additional steps that may be necessary to lower the risk level in Dedham.”
