Raymond School District Requests Community Feedback on Fall Reopening Plan

RAYMOND — Superintendent Tina McCoy would like to invite the Raymond School District community to review and provide feedback on the draft reopening plan for the fall.

The district’s draft reopening plan combines recommendations and guidelines from its Back to School 2020 Transition Governance Reopening Committee and the guidelines issued by the New Hampshire Department of Education. The draft plan has not yet been formally reviewed by the Raymond School Board.

The draft plan is now available for review on the district’s website here. Stakeholders are invited to complete a brief surveyonce they’ve reviewed the draft, which will remain open until noon on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

“Throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve recognized that including the feedback from our community members while also prioritizing the health and safety of our staff, students and their families is vital,” Superintendent McCoy said. “This survey will help us understand the comfort level of our stakeholders in relation to two different reopening scenarios outlined in the draft plan. It also provides an opportunity for open ended suggestions. Survey results will be used to refine the plan in ways that best suit the needs of those in the Raymond School District, so we hope that everyone will take the time to submit their thoughts and suggestions.”

The feedback will be collected and considered by the Raymond School Board in preparation for its meeting on Aug. 5, where members will discuss, modify and ultimately approve the school reopening plan. The meeting will be held at Raymond High School, 45 Harriman Hill Road, starting at 6 p.m. and all interested members of the public are invited to attend either in person or remotely. All in-person guests will be asked to wear a face mask or covering and practice social distancing during the meeting.

The meeting can either be watched live on Raymond Community Television Channel 13 or 22, or online using the RCTV livestream or the Google Meet livestream. To participate remotely by phone, please call 1-484-364-5861 and use the pin 975 478 191 #. To participate remotely via video, please email invite@sau33.com before the start of the meeting.
