Amesbury Fire Department Responds After Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries in Crash

AMESBURY — Amesbury Fire Chief Kenneth E. Berkenbush reports that the Amesbury Fire and Police Departments responded after a child was struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

AMESBURY — Amesbury Fire Chief Kenneth E. Berkenbush reports that the Amesbury Fire and Police Departments responded after a child was struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 4:35 p.m. that day, both departments responded to the area of Oakland and Chestnut Streets for a report of a pedestrian that was struck. Upon arrival, first responders determined that an 11-year-old boy was struck while riding his bike.

The victim was taken by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital with injuries that are considered serious. The driver remained on scene and was not injured.

The incident remains under investigation by the Amesbury Police Department.
