BROOKLINE — Public Health Director Dr. Swannie Jett announces that the emergency suspension of the town’s ban on single use plastic bags will remain in effect through September.

Plastic bag bans were suspended statewide in March at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Brookline’s will remain suspended through at least September.

The Brookline Health Department will reassess the bag ban suspension prior to the end of September and will announce whether or not it will be further extended.
