Author Stephen Puleo will present his new book “Voyage of Mercy: The USS Jamestown, the Irish Famine, and the Remarkable Story of America’s First Humanitarian Mission.”

The book details the USS Jamestown, a converted warship that left Boston in March of 1847 with food, clothes and supplies for Ireland during the potato famine. The mission was the United States’ first humanitarian relief effort. This voyage provided the blueprint for future relief efforts, and established the United States as a leader in international aid.

Stephen Puleo is an author, teacher, public speaker, and communications professional. He has published seven narrative books, “Voyage of Mercy” (2020), “American Treasure” (2016), “The Caning” (2012), “A City So Grand” (2010), “The Boston Italians” (2007), “Due to Enemy Action” (2005), and “Dark Tide” (2003).

Books signed by Puleo will be available, and details will soon be available on how to purchase signed copies.
