MAYNARD — Town Administrator Greg Johnson would like to thank Makers Workshop for their generous donation of 3-D printed face shields to the Town of Maynard.
Michael and Brooke Denault, owners of Makers Workshop in Maynard, donated 100 much-needed face shields to the Town of Maynard to help prevent exposure to COVID-19.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Denaults and their volunteers began creating face shields for those in need using 3-D printers, laser cutters and materials in their workshop.
“The Town would like to thank Michael and Brooke, and those who assisted Makers Workshop, for their generous donation of face shields,” said Town Administrator Johnson. “Their donation has helped to ensure the safety of our community while essential business is conducted and people may not be able to feasibly remain six feet apart. We would especially like to thank the Denaults for using their workshop and resources during these unprecedented times to give back to the community and help with our fight against COVID-19. “
The donations will be issued to town personnel as needed as the COVID-19 situation continues to develop.
The face shields will also be used for staff during the Annual Town Meeting on June 13.
Additionally, Makers Workshop has been donating additional shields to local hospitals to assist healthcare workers in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
