CONCORD – The Town of Concord, in an effort to keep its citizens informed about the impacts of COVID-19 in the community, is aware of an anticipated rise in positive cases reported by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

This increase is attributable to a rise in cases reported at the CareOne at Concord facility, which is reported as “30 or more,” the highest range provided by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The Town has been in frequent contact with CareOne staff and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to make sure all proper guidelines are being followed at the facility and to ensure the facility stays in constant communication during the pandemic.

“The Town will remain in contact with the facility and DPH to ensure best practices are being followed,” Concord Fire Chief Thomas Judge said. “The Town will also continue to provide whatever assistance and support it can for the duration of the pandemic.”

As part of its COVID-19 reporting, DPH lists all nursing homes, rest homes and skilled nursing facilities with two or more known COVID-19 cases. There are currently more than 260 facilities on the list.

The Town of Concord would also like to remind residents that, per the state’s stay-at-home advisory, all residents should continue to practice aggressive social distancing — maintaining a distance of approximately 6 to 10 feet from other people — and appropriate personal hygiene, including wearing face masks when in public.
