ARLINGTON — The Town of Arlington is pleased to announce the launch of the Arlington COVID-19 Relief Fund and is seeking donations to help residents in need during and after the COVID-19 crisis.

The fund was established by the Town of Arlington and the Arlington Health and Human Services Charitable Corporation to provide emergency assistance for individuals and families in Arlington experiencing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic.

Members of the Arlington community are encouraged to donate whatever they can to the fund. Donations will help Arlington residents in need:

  • remain in their homes with rent/mortgage payments and assistance with utilities
  • keep their kids connected to school lessons and families in contact through internet connectivity
  • pay for health care and medications
  • fund child care while essential workers continue to keep the community running
  • support to small businesses and those that work in town

To make an online donation to the Arlington COVID-19 Relief Fund, click here.

Donations to the fund are fully tax-deductible and provide emergency assistance to Arlington community members. Individuals who donate to the fund should note that there is a new deduction available for those who do not itemize their taxes of up to $300 per individual or $600 per household. Donations to the Arlington COVID-19 Relief Fund will qualify for this deduction.

Additionally, on Tuesday, May 5, the world will be celebrating Giving Tuesday Now. Giving Tuesday is celebrated annually on Dec. 1, but in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be celebrated twice this year with the addition of Giving Tuesday Now.

On Giving Tuesday Now, people are encouraged to show their support for causes they hold dear and for those most affected by COVID-19. #GivingTuesdayNow is an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal.

Those interested in spreading generosity on Giving Tuesday Now are encouraged to consider a donation to the Arlington COVID-19 Relief Fund.
