WEST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Victor Flaherty is pleased to share that the West Bridgewater Police Department was among several first responder agencies throughout the region paying a special visit to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton Monday to show appreciation to the hospital’s employees.
As part of the event, first responders drove their police cruisers, fire engines and ambulances through the hospital parking lot before looping around and parking along the North Pearl Street entrance. They then waved and said thank you to the hospital workers as some arrived to work and others left during the 3 p.m. shift change.
West Bridgewater Police Lt. Timothy Nixon took part in the event.
“We were happy to join other public safety agencies in taking this opportunity to recognize our local healthcare workers,” Chief Flaherty said. “They’re working extremely hard right now to take care of our communities and we greatly appreciate everything they are doing.”
Also on Monday, three West Bridgewater Police officers, as well as members of the West Bridgewater Fire Department, held a similar event driving past the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater nursing home to recognize medical staff and residents. Many residents waited at the windows as the first responders drove past.
