BRIDGEWATER — Town Manager Michael Dutton and Elder Affairs Director Emily Williams would like to share virtual caregiver support resources with Bridgewater community members.
“Please know that you are not alone during these unprecedented times,” said Director Williams. “We are here to support you with resources, tips and advice on getting through the caregiver journey while at home with a loved one.”
Support Groups
For those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease or a related memory disorder, the Alzheimer’s Association provides virtual support groups and virtual programs. A full list of resources can be found online here.
The Alzheimer’s Association offers the following virtual support groups for caregivers to develop informal mutual support and social relationships:
- Caregiver group for those living at home with their loved one with a diagnosis
Every Thursday between April 9 and May 14 from 1 to 2 p.m. - Caregiver group for young onset dementia
Every Monday between April 20 and May 25 from 6 to 7 p.m. - Early Stage Caregivers
Every Tuesday between April 21 and May 26 from 11 a.m. to noon - Caregiver group for those with a loved one in a facility that they cannot visit due to Covid-19
Every Friday between April 24 and May 29 from 2 to 3 p.m. - General Telephone Caregiver Support Group
Every Thursday between May 7 and May 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. - General Telephone Caregiver Support Group
Every Thursday between June 4 and June 25 from 1 to 2 p.m.
