DEDHAM — Town Manager Leon Goodwin and Town Treasurer/Collector Jane Cunniff Lepardo would like to inform residents that, per recently signed state legislation, the Town of Dedham is extending the due date for real estate and personal property tax payments in response to COVID-19.
In accordance with the Act to Address Challenges Faced by Municipalities and State Authorities Resulting from COVID-19, signed on Friday, April 3, the Town is exercising the option made available by the legislation to extend the due date of tax payments. The Board of Selectmen voted to approve the extension at their meeting Thursday, April 9.
The original deadline for tax payments due on May 1, 2020 has been extended to June 1, 2020.
Additionally, the Town of Dedham will waive interest and penalties for the late payment 4th Quarter Real Estate Tax and Fourth Quarter Personal Property Tax where payment is made after June 1, but before June 30, 2020.
Though Town offices are currently closed to the public, there are two payment methods available:
- Mail a check with the bill remit slip in the envelope provided
- Pay online on the Town’s Website (ACH=$.40 fee; credit card=fee based on balance)
- Place a check with the bill remit slip in the drop-box at the rear entrance to Town Hall
Receipts can be provided upon request with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
