Fairhaven Police Participating in Autism Awareness Patch Fundraiser Throughout April

This version clarifies that the Fairhaven Police Union is running the sale of the patches.

FAIRHAVEN — The Fairhaven Police Union will be selling custom patches in honor of Autism Awareness Month throughout April.

Patches will be available for purchase over the next few weeks and money raised through the sales will be donated to a local Autism program, which will be determined later this month. Some Fairhaven Police officers will wear the patch on their uniforms during this time as well to help spread awareness about autism and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Those interested in purchasing a patch should send a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with a check or money order made payable to the NE Police Benevolent Association.

Patches cost $10 and can be purchased by mailing a check to:

Due to social distancing efforts, residents will not be able to purchase the patches directly from the police department or with cash for the time being. The Fairhaven Police Department is limiting public access to the police station as a precaution against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
