RAYMOND, N.H. — Superintendent Tina McCoy is pleased to share that after school remote learning support will be available for elementary and middle school students throughout the school closures due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Certified teachers will be available Monday through Friday 3-5 p.m. for Iber Holmes Gove Middle School students and 3:30-5:30 p.m. for Lamprey River Elementary School.
At no charge, students can receive help on things like daily assignments, how best to use the technology they have available to complete their work, and how to prioritize and organize their assignments.
If you have a student that can use some extra help and would like to explore this option, email Youth Program Development Coordinator Patrick Arsenault at p.arsenault@sau33.com.
Those seeking help for their students are asked to give a short description of the help they are looking for when they reach out.
This academic support is made possible through the Learning Enrichment Afterschool Program (LEAP), which is available for IHGMS and LRES due to the grant funding the schools receive for the program. Arsenault, who is continually seeking ways for the LEAP to serve the needs of our school our community, created the plan to take the program online due to the school closures.
Since March 17, students have been participating in remote learning after Gov. Chris Sununu announced the closure of schools statewide in an effort to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Remote learning will continue until at least May 4.
Staff have been keeping students engaged in a variety of ways, from assignments presented in Google Classroom, to staff live-streaming or recording morning messages or reading books aloud to start the day. Students, in return, have been sharing pictures of what they are learning and doing at home that’s connected to the assigned activities.
More information on the closures and remote learning can be found on the District’s website.
