EXETER — East Kingston School Board Chair Jamie Saucier is pleased to announce Brandon French will be the new principal for East Kingston Elementary School.
French will replace current principal Steve Tullar starting July 1, 2020. French currently works as the Assistant Principal at Webster Elementary School in Manchester.
French took his role as the assistant principal in 2018. During this time, he’s worked as an administrative leader for the 450 students and 60 staff members in the school. He helped transform the school’s Emotional and Behavioral Disorder (EBD) program, began the implementation of trauma informed practices, and formed a partnership with Saint Anselm College to provide college students service learning opportunities in the EBD and English Language Learner (ELL) classrooms.
“Brandon will make a great addition to the team at East Kingston Elementary School and we are looking forward to him leading our school,” Board Chair Saucier said. “As a resident of East Kingston he already understands the challenges we face in our community, and he is eager to not only invest his time and experience in the school, but to learn from others about how best to go about it.”
Prior to this, French worked as Assistant Principal at Henry Wilson Elementary School in Manchester from 2014 to 2018. He also worked as a physical education teacher in the Nashua School District in Nashua from 2013 to 2014, the Newfane Central School District in Newfane, New York from 2006 to 2012 and the Williamsville Central School District from 2003 to 2005.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the State University of New York College at Cortland in Cortland, New York and a master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Buffalo State College in Buffalo, New York. He has completed the Educational Administration Leadership Academy at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts as well.
“I’m overjoyed for the opportunity to take this next step in my career and to serve in the community where my family lives,” French said. “I’m looking forward to helping further build up the positive school culture to help students, their families and staff continue to thrive.”
The SAU 16 School Board unanimously approved French’s hiring at their March 23, 2020 special meeting.
Current Principal Steve Tullar will retire at the end of this school year. He has served as principal since 2016.
