LYNNFIELD — Superintendent John Scenna and the Board of Commissioners announce that the Lynnfield Center Water District is continuing to operate under modified daily operations following the emergency order issued by Gov. Baker that all non-essential businesses will need to close on Tuesday, March 24 at noon.

The LCWD is considered an essential organization according to the “COVID-19 Essential Services” list, and the District had previously announced operational changes in accordance with public health recommendations to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Operations staff will remain available to pump, treat and distribute water in accordance with all standards throughout the week. However, they will be responding only to emergency situations in homes on a case by case basis as needed. The LCWD will continue following its existing revised schedule of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, but may reassess its hours of operation for the following week should circumstances require.

All employees of the District have been assigned documents identifying them as essential employees of the District and independent vendors will only be used by the LCWD on an emergency basis.

The LCWD office remains closed for in-person transactions. You can still contact the office by calling 781-334-3901 or by emailing us at LCWD@LCWD.US. A staff member will continue to answer calls during regular business hours. If no one answers, please leave a detailed message with contact information and someone will be certain to call you back. Staff members will also have access to and will be responding to emails.

Crews will remain available to respond to reported after-hours emergencies. Please follow standard protocols to report any issues.

The District appreciates customers’ patience and cooperation as we navigate a balance between continuing to maintain and operate a safe and reliable water system, provide service to customers and protecting the health and safety of our workplace. Please contact us with any concerns or questions.
