HOLLISTON – Superintendent Brad Jackson and High School Prinicipal Nicole Bottomley are pleased to announce that Holliston High School welcomed eighth graders and their families to campus last week to introduce them to the school’s program of studies.

On March 3-5, eighth graders had the chance to spend one half day at the high school, where they met with school counselors to go over schedule offerings, went on tours of the building guided by current high school students, shared lunch in the cafeteria and attended a class.

“This is a week we look forward to every year because it helps to begin the transition from middle school to high school for our incoming ninth graders,” Principal Bottomley said. “It’s a great way for students to have their questions about high school answered and ease the nervousness that comes with making that transition.”

On Wednesday, Holliston High School hosted a Program of Studies Evening for eighth grade families. The night serves as an opportunity for incoming families to learn firsthand about the diverse course offerings at the high school.

The evening included a short presentation in the auditorium, followed by small group sessions with department leaders, who share their individual course offerings and answer families’ questions in an intimate setting.

High school counselors, teachers and administrators shared details on how eighth graders will register for their courses online, what their schedules could look like next year, as well as the requirements they will need to satisfy in order to earn their diplomas.

The Holliston High School Program of Studies is available online here.
