ACTON — A visit to the the Acton Fire Department on Friday by a group of local children proved to be a fruitful public education event.
A group of 20 children form the Infant Toddler Children Center stopped by the West Acton Fire Station Friday morning, getting a tour of the fire engines and demonstrations of some of the equipment, such as how to put on the gear and how firefighters use different tools when responding to calls.
“Visits like this are a great way to engage with the public and share some insight into what we do,” Chief Robert Hart said. “We were thrilled to host the group, and hope they came away having learned important fire safety and prevention lessons.”
Those interested in setting up a visit can contact the Acton Fire Department at 978-929-7414.
