Saugus Police Respond to Crash Involving Ambulance

SAUGUS — Interim Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash involving an ambulance and a Honda Civic this morning.

SAUGUS — Interim Chief Ronald Giorgetti reports that the Saugus Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash involving an ambulance and a Honda Civic this morning.

At approximately 10 a.m. Saugus Police responded to multiple reports of a motor vehicle crash involving an ambulance in the area of 285 Main St.

Two additional ambulances responded to the scene to transport patients.

A 19-year-old female who was driving the 2017 Honda Civic at the time of the crash was transported to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. She was the sole occupant of the car.

Another ambulance transported a 72-year-old female patient who had been inside the ambulance involved in the crash to an area hospital. She was not injured in the crash.

Neither of the ambulance workers inside the ambulance were not injured in the crash.

Main Street was partially closed in the area of the crash as police and EMTs responded to the scene. Both vehicles were towed.

This incident remains under investigation by the Saugus Police Department.
