New Principal announced for Hampton’s Adeline C. Marston School

HAMPTON — Superintendent Kathleen Murphy is pleased to announce Nathan Sadler will be the new principal of Adeline C. Marston School.

Nathan Sadler will replace Dr. Lois Costa as principal on July 1. He currently serves as Assistant Principal for the Marston School.

Sadler took on his role as Assistant Principal in July 2013. Over the last five years, he’s helped with curriculum development, instructional strategies and performance assessments. He was also named the New Hampshire Assistant Principal of the year for the 2020-21 school year.

“The District is very fortunate to employ someone with Nathan’s talent and skills as a principal,” Superintendent Murphy said. “He’s been instrumental in developing math and science curriculum, and is a respected leader at the school.”

Prior to his current role, Sadler worked as a third and fourth grade teacher at Rye Elementary School in Rye, NH for two years, and as a third grade teacher at Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond, NH for four years.

He holds an associates degree in early childhood education and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, both from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Sadler additionally holds a Master’s Degree in curriculum and instruction from Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH.

He has also earned a certification of advanced and graduate studies in educational leadership from Southern New Hampshire University, a NH Experienced Educator Certificate, a NH Curriculum Certification and a NH Principal Certification. He is currently working to earn his National Principal Certification.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to take this next step in my career,” Sadler said. “I’ve loved my time here at the school and look forward to building on the positive growth we’ve achieved during my seven years here.”

The Hampton School Board unanimously approved Sadler’s promotion at their Monday, Jan. 14 meeting.

Costa will become the new superintendent for the Hampton School District. She has been with the Hampton School District for the last 20 years. She has served as principal for the Adeline C. Marston School for the last 12 years and assistant principal for eight years before that. Prior to working in Hampton, she taught for 12 years as a third grade teacher at Reeds Ferry Elementary School in Merrimack, N.H.

Costa will step into her new role on July 1, and will replace Superintendent Murphy, who has served as superintendent of the district since it was formed in 2011.
