Raynham Police and Fire Departments Respond to Pedestrian Crash
RAYNHAM– Police Chief James Donovan and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to a crash involving a pedestrian today.
At approximately 4:50 p.m. members of the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of North Main Street and White Street for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, police found that a Raynham woman in her 50s had been walking across a crosswalk when she was struck by a sedan.
The woman sustained serious injuries from the crash. First responders called for a medical helicopter, but the helicopter was too far away and the woman was transported by ambulance to a Rhode Island hospital.
The woman’s dog died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the sedan remained on scene.
North Main and White Streets have been temporarily closed as police and firefighters respond to the crash, and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
This crash remains under investigation by the Raynham Police Department.
