First Randolph Citizens’ Academy a Success Following Graduation Ceremony

RANDOLPH — Town Manager Brian Howard is pleased to announce that the town’s first Randolph Citizens’ Academy was a success after its graduation ceremony last week.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, the class of 16 Randolph residents celebrated the completion of the program at a ceremony at Town Hall. State Senator Walter Timilty and Town Council President Jason Adams attended the ceremony and spoke to those in attendance. Each graduate received a citation from the State Senate, a certificate of completion from the Town of Randolph and a Randolph Citizens Academy Graduate coffee mug.

The eight-week course provided students important information about a variety of services available to them by the town’s different departments. Some of the categories that were covered included finance, land use, police, fire, department of public works, public health and elections.

“I want to congratulate all of our graduates and commend them for being a wonderful first class for our Citizens’ Academy,” Town Manager Howard said. “This program not only provided important information to some of our citizens about how our town is run, but it served as a great away for town officials and department heads to connect directly with our community members. I would also like to thank those who taught the classes and made themselves available for this program.”

Due to the success of the program, town officials will be running a spring information session for a second class. Residents are encouraged to check the town’s website for updates.

Shellie Cattel wrote, “Thank you so much for accepting me into the first academy. It was so informative and I am so proud to live in this amazing town. I enjoyed every week.”

Jade Antonangeli said, “I really appreciate your time and effort and everyone involved in making it a great experience.”
