Raynham Fire Department Responds to Fatal Crash

Good Samaritan Killed After Stopping to Help Motorist

RAYNHAM — Chief Bryan LaCivita reports that the Raynham Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 495 Southbound at the Route 104 overpass early Friday morning.

At approximately 1 a.m. this morning, Raynham Fire Department Engine 3 and a Raynham ambulance responded to the scene of a vehicle that had struck a deer in the southbound lane of Route 495. A Good Samaritan who had stopped to assist the driver was found to have been fatally injured when he was struck by a third vehicle. 

The Raynham Fire Department helped to block off the road until Massachusetts State Police arrived on scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.
