Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth to Host Conference on Teen Vaping at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton

WAKEFIELD — Executive Director Margie Daniels is pleased to announce that Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth will be hosting a professional development conference on youth vaping next week at the Southeastern Regional Technical Vocational High School in Easton.

The daylong conference entitled, “New Information, Heightened Concern: Halting the Vaping Epidemic” will feature several speakers from a variety of fields who will talk about the dangers of youth vaping and the impacts it can have on students.

The conference is free to attend and is open to educational, public safety and public health professionals.

WHAT:

Due to a recent nationwide outbreak of lung injuries and deaths associated with vaping, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker has called for a temporary statewide ban on the sale of all vaping products.

Massachusetts is the first state in the U.S. to issue this type of ban, which includes all tobacco and marijuana vaping products and devices.

The conference includes perspectives, discussions and panels from medical and public health experts, law enforcement members and legislators.

“By hosting this conference we can bring a number of experts from a variety of fields together in the same room to share their expertise and guidance on this extremely important issue,” Daniels said. “We hope that those who attend will then go back to their respective schools, departments and offices and put what they have learned to good use in their communities.”
